Manchester United will not rush Zlatan Ibrahimovic back from injury, The Sun writes in an exclusive.
As we all know, the influential Swede suffered an ACL injury last April, before returning to the Red Devils team in November. However, since then, he’s been sidelined again, and now Jose Mourinho is clearly being extra-cautious in regards to the 36-year-old.
The Paris Saint-Germain icon is apparently putting in extra sessions in the gym as he tries to speed up his recovery and gain that all-important core strength, with United letting Ibrahimovic work at his own pace, with Mourinho safe in the knowledge that the forward knows his own body best.
At this point in Ibrahimovic’s career, it makes perfect sense to be careful. This is a man who’s been there and done it all, so there is absolutely no point in rushing back and risking re-injuring his knee once again. Give him time, heck, let him sit out the remainder of the season if it comes down to it. If it means he can play on next season, be it for United or elsewhere, at least he’s giving himself a chance to continue if he so chooses.
