Manchester United made a bold move just over a year ago, when they brought Ander Herrera to Old Trafford in a deal costing over £25million. The midfielder brought plenty of energy to the centre of the park, but Paul Ince, one of United’s best ever players, isn’t convinced by him just yet.
“When United bought Herrera I thought it was a lot of money and when I first saw him he was small and looked quite weak.” Paul Ince began. “I’m not sure he’s going to be a regular in a Van Gaal’s side and although he’s a very good player he’s just more suited to Spain.”
I’m not sure about these comments. Ander Herrera has all the capabilities to play at the highest level in any country he wants to. Just look at his display against Everton earlier in the season. He ran the show from minute one and topped it off with a wonderful headed goal.
The part I do agree with is that Van Gaal doesn’t seem wholly sold on Herrera, which is obviously a real disappointment as he deserves to be starting week-in week-out.
