Manchester United scraped through to another Wembley showpiece last night, which will be their fourth within the last nine months for the Red Devils. However, one man who missed out on the squad yesterday evening was Anthony Martial, and that certainly raised questions amongst some fans.
Now, we’ve been given a report that certainly backs up the aforementioned frustration amongst the terraces, and it comes from the usually reliable Times newspaper.
The report says that Anthony Martial is currently ‘deeply frustrated’ with Jose Mourinho, following recent criticism that the forward has received from the manager. They add that the Frenchman isn’t happy that Jose told him he had missed an opportunity to impress in a recent fixture.
Let’s not forget that the man who cost Manchester United an initial £38.5million was truly outstanding in his debut campaign last year, but he is certainly finding it much tougher under this new regime.
If true, this wouldn’t be the first time that Jose Mourinho has opted against using young players. Just look at the situations between himself and both Romelu Lukaku and Kevin de Bruyne during his time at Chelsea…
That said, you have to put 100% trust in the ability of our manager. He’s a proven winner and won everything there is to be won in this country – and United are certainly in the right direction.
I’d point to the Henrikh Mkhitaryan situation as well, the Armenian was left out for a while, but came back with a bang and is now an integral part of the gaffer’s plans.
