Manchester United could’ve just been given some positive news by Guillem Balague of Sky Sports, who claims that a deal for Pedro is drawing ever closer. United are yet to meet the €30m release clause, but are ‘getting close’ to that fee, Balague said.
The Spanish football expert went onto say that Manchester City are also in the frame to sign 28-year old Pedro however, and they’ve already bettered United’s offer. Chelsea are believed to be keen, but some way off both Manchester clubs at present.
Pedro’s number one choice is obviously United, and the sooner Louis van Gaal meets that release clause the better. Just get the deal done and get the winger involved with the squad as soon as possible, because games are starting to come thick and fast.
There is no doubting that he’d be an astute piece of business at just over €22million. He’s a fantastic player with superb ability and talent, and his versatility is no doubt his biggest selling point to Louis van Gaal.
Get him signed up, Woodward!
