Manchester United’s forgotten man explains how he has improved whilst on loan

Manchester United Football Club are known for nurturing young talent and turning them into top players. One man who came very close to doing exactly that was Adnan Januzaj, and under David Moyes, it looked as though the Belgian would become something special.

However, since the Scottish manager departed from Old Trafford, Januzaj’s career has sort of faded into the distance and he became somewhat the forgotten man.

He’s now been out on loan a couple of times, and he’s struggled at both Borussia Dortmund and Sunderland.

Now, the talented Belgian has been speaking to the North Shields Gazette, as per the Manchester Evening News. He has discussed a variety of topics, including how he thinks he has improved whilst with the Black Cats.

“It has been a hard time for me because it has not been an easy position to be in. I have become a much stronger player than I have been. Defensively I have also had to improve because I have had to defend more.”

“That has helped my fitness as well. I feel much fitter now playing this way.”

Well, first of all it’s great that he is working with Moyes again. He was the coach who got the best out of Januzaj, and it definitely seems like the right move at the current time. Adnan is still very young at just 22 and still has time to develop and improve his game.

I just get the feeling that Jose Mourinho prefers those guys who work very hard on the defensive end of the ball, and although Januzaj has said he has improved in that area of his game, I still think he is some way off.

It is a real shame for the player. He was probably the best player at the club during that season, and to watch him fall from grace so drastically must have hurt him. He now has to keep working hard and try to force his way back into proceedings at Old Trafford.
