Manchester United’s move for Harry Maguire a done deal according to Italian journo

Manchester United’s summer transfer window started excellently, although things have hit somewhat of a lull recently…

Harry Maguire’s name is the one that keeps appearing on the back pages most, although with time running out, the Red Devils will have to act quickly to push through a move.

Anyway, there has seemingly been some serious progress made on that front… The story comes from Italian journalist Alfredo Pedulla, who states that United’s move for the 26-year-old Maguire is now a ‘done deal’…

Pedulla broke this news shortly after Maguire’s agent was spotted at United’s Carrington training ground, so there could well be something in this one.

Furthermore, Pedulla adds that United will now try to sign Sergej Milinkovic-Savic from SS Lazio; a player whom they were keen on last season.

The 24-year-old midfielder isn’t a player I’m all-too-familiar with, but personally, I feel any deal for the Serb would be dependent on whether Paul Pogba leaves Old Trafford or not.

Anyway, back to Maguire, his addition simply cannot be understated. We’ve been crying out for a top-class centre-half for years and hopefully, the Englishman can finally bring some stability to a key area of the field – although he will not come cheap…
