Manchester United’s talented goalkeeper suffers knee ligament injury – report

Earlier today, Manchester United decided to recall Dean Henderson from his loan spell at League Two side Grimsby Town, and that began to raise questions immediately. Now, the reasoning behind that move has been confirmed – and it isn’t good.

According to the Manchester Evening News, Joel Pereira has suffered knee ligament damage, less than a week after making his full debut for the Red Devils at Old Trafford.

Honestly, I’m absolutely gutted for the lad if this is true because he clearly has a bright future but this is a major setback, that’ll surely dent his confidence.

Although there is no date given on when to expect his return, you’d imagine he’ll be sidelined for quite some time. The best thing to do in these situations is to try and stay as mentally tough as possible, because it must be really hard for him without playing.

It now means that Dean Henderson will be the third choice keeper, behind both David de Gea and Sergio Romero. This is a huge opportunity for the 19-year-old to prove his worth to Jose Mourinho.
