Manchester United completed a deal for Eric Bailly yesterday, with Jose Mourinho sanctioning around £30million to bring in the defender. However, his transfer business simply won’t stop there, and the self-proclaimed Special One has been having meetings to discuss that topic with Ed Woodward.
According to the usually reliable Mark Ogden of The Guardian, Manchester United are weighing up the possibility of putting an official bid in for Paul Pogba.
Mourinho is a long-term admirer of the Juventus man who was on United’s books as a teenager, and Ogden goes on to say that his name has featured prominently in the aforementioned meetings between Woodward and Mourinho.
Ogden also adds that City have pulled out of any deal to bring in the midfielder, so United will have a free run at signing him if they so choose to.
It won’t be easy, particularly without the lure of Champions League football. You’d imagine it’d take a huge transfer fee and some astronomical weekly wages to get him back to the Theatre of Dreams. It is possible, though.
