Manchester United are embroiled in a real battle to finish in the Premier League top four right now, with Jose Mourinho’s men in a rich vein of form. Next up, AFC Bournemouth at Old Trafford in a match that the Red Devils should win.
Before that, though, we’ve been handed a great piece of news regarding one of our longest serving players. The man in question is Michael Carrick, and earlier today the club confirmed that the former Spurs man will have a testimonial this coming summer.
When the midfielder made the move to Manchester United back in 2006, he immediately became one of our key players. Ever since he has been a mainstay in the starting eleven for years.
Carrick has won absolutely everything here, including several Premier League crowns and a Champions League title. He completed his medal collection last May, when he won his first FA Cup title.
This game to honour Carrick is so richly deserved, and hopefully he enjoys the day that it is all about him and his family. Thanks for the eleven years service Michael, and here’s to another couple yet…
