Manchester United have had an extremely hit and miss twelve months, with the club lifting the FA Cup, but suffering some humiliating defeats in the league – Chelsea just yesterday being a prime example. However, one man who has been simply sensational to watch recently is Marcus Rashford.
The 18-year-old burst onto the scene in February, and scored two on his debut in the Europa League. He followed that up with some outstanding performances in the Premier League, further improving his stature in the global game.
Today though, the winner of the European Golden Boy was announced, and sadly Marcus Rashford finished in second place behind Portuguese sensation Renato Sanches. Sanches’ Bayern Munich teammate Kingsley Coman rounded off the top three.
It goes to show just how good the man from Wythenshawe has been since making his debut at Old Trafford, and it really is credit to himself for all the hard work and dedication he has shown for the cause.
Whilst it must be sad for him coming up short, he has to think of the positives. He is regarded as the second best teenager in world football which is a huge honour.
