Manchester United play arguably their biggest fixture of the season so far tonight, when the Red Devils host Arsenal at Old Trafford. The game itself will be an eagerly anticipated affair. Heck, it always has been despite the recent decline from both clubs.
However, after a change in manager, Arsenal are seemingly on the up once again. After an excellent derby day victory over Tottenham Hotspur, they now have the opportunity to come to the Theatre of Dreams and kill United’s top four hopes.
Ahead of the eagerly anticipated encounter, Manchester United’s Marcus Rashford has offered high praise indeed to The Gunners, while stating that they now play better football under Unai Emery, looking like a far better outlet in the process.
“It’s almost a different Arsenal side now,” Rashford told the club’s website. “They’re playing better football, they’re a more aggressive team and looking at them now they’re one of the strongest teams in the league. We have to take all that into account and no matter what happens we have to try to get the three points.”
I’m jealous of Arsenal right now, and it pains me to say it. They’ve hired an ambitious manager who’s changes are already evident. Emery plays wonderful football, the players enjoy working with him. That’s in stark contrast to what is happening upon Salford Quays at the moment.
Whether it’s a change in manager United need, or a whole gutting out of the club from top to bottom, I’m just not sure. The place is in a real mess at the moment, but I fear it’s going to be like this in the long haul before we see things improve…
