Manchester United and England fans were left sweating when Marcus Rashford picked up an apparent injury in training earlier this week – before jetting off to Russia for the World Cup.
Now, the 20-year-old has spoken out on the issue. He took to Twitter to confirm that he’s picked up a ‘slight niggle’, although it’s nothing to worry about.
After putting in such a brilliant display against Costa Rica in England’s final warm-up fixture, Rashford may have played his way into Gareth Southgate’s team for the Tunisia game. Following this injury, though, I doubt the man from Wythenshawe will be risked.
Thanks for the messages I've been getting. Picked up a slight niggle but nothing to worry about 👊🏾 #ThreeLions

With that said, it’s great to learn that the issue isn’t anything serious, and hopefully, he’ll be fit to take his place in the squad come Monday night.
As that x-factor from off the substitutes bench, Rashford has the potential to be a real difference-maker for his country. Just look at that stunning goal he scored last time out. That ability to create something out of nothing is an extremely rare commodity, and in a tight-knit affair, I certainly wouldn’t want a player like Rashford running at my defenders.
I just hope he gets his opportunity to make his mark on the tournament.
