Marcus Rashford stalling on new contract, worried club heading wrong way: report

Just when you get the impression that the Manchester United dressing room is back on the right track, a story like last night’s comes to the fore…

It comes from The Sun, who write that Marcus Rashford is stalling on signing a new contract as he’s worried that United aren’t heading in the right direction under Ole Gunnar Solskjaer.

Understandably, United want Rashford to commit to a new deal with the 21-year-old having just two years left on his current Reds contract. If he were to wind it down and leave, United would only receive training compensation rather than an actual transfer fee.

Apparently, Rashford wants to ‘be sure’ that United are moving forwards before committing his future to the club. I just find it absolutely damning.

We’re talking about a United fan, who, as the song says, is Manc born and bred. If he’s having doubts about remaining here then God only knows what the rest of the dressing room is thinking at this point in time.

The worst part about it? I cannot blame him for at least considering his future. He’s an ambitious lad, he wants to win trophies. Next season, it’s up to Solskjaer and United to give him a reason to stay.
