Martin Skrtel charged for stamp on Man Utd’s David de Gea

Manchester United secured all three points against a Liverpool side who were playing dirty from the get-go. Steven Gerrard was rightly punished with a straight red card for his horrific stamp on Ander Herrera, but Martin Skrtel escaped punishment as the referee didn’t stop the incident.

However the FA have reviewed the tackle, and deemed it serious enough to charge the Slovakian international.

The 30-year old more than deserves the three match ban that’ll come his way if he doesn’t decide to fight the ban. Even if he does, I really cannot see it being upheld.

It was a tackle that could’ve seriously damaged David de Gea’s ankle, but hopefully our keeper came away unscathed and will be fit to take part in Manchester United’s league match.
