Mason Greenwood wins Man United POTM award for July

Mason Greenwood is a special talent. Today, he was presented with his first POTM award following some exceptional performances throughout July.

What a way to cap off a debut season, hey? Greenwood was simply exceptional post-lockdown, as the Red Devils went unbeaten to book their slot in next season’s Champions League.

The talented-teen was a huge reason as to why United were so good, with his clinical finishing powering United into the top four. The scary thing is? Greenwood is only going to get better – and I can’t wait to see that happen.

For Greenwood, it’s now about looking forward and playing a key role in the Red Devils’ Europa League campaign. He may not start against LASK on Wednesday, but you can bet he’ll feature in the latter stages, provided we go far into the competition of course…

Anyway, now it’s about reflection on an excellent season for Mason Greenwood, as he posed all-smiles with a maiden Man United POTM honour:

It has definitely been an exciting 24hours for Greenwood. First a tattoo, now this. Hopefully, the superstar-striker is now resting up ahead of a busy twelve months which could end up with an England European Championship call-up.

Just how far can Greenwood go?

I’m not exaggerating when I say that Greenwood could be the best young player I’ve ever seen at United – and the bar is incredibly high.

For now, it’s about remaining level-headed and grounded, though I appreciate that’s easier said than done. This is, hopefully, the first of many United Player of the Month awards. Let’s hope his debut season ends with a team honour; the Europa League title.

Congratulations, Mason!
