Manchester United Football Club gave birth to a star last February, when Marcus Rashford burst onto the scene by scoring two goals on debut. Ever since that cold night at Old Trafford, the young man from Wythenshawe has been a mainstay in matchday squads.
The 19-year-old has received some high praise indeed during his fledgeling career, and after an excellent week both domestically and internationally, the plaudits just keep on coming Rashford’s way.
Next to sing his praises is his Manchester United teammate Juan Mata. The Spaniard was speaking to the media about Rashford’s development, whilst also claiming that everyone felt something special when the striker started playing.
‘It’s been great for us since he started. When he started in the first-team, we felt something special about him and he’s doing it. He’s making some good steps in his evolution.’ Mata is quoted as saying by the Daily Mail.
‘He’s a great player with some good conditions. A good mentality as well, which is very important for his age. Scoring goals for England, and for us, and I’m happy to have him in our team.’
‘He can change the game with one sprint, one skill, and he’s a great talent that hopefully will be great for Manchester United and England in many years to come.’
The potential and talent that Rashford has is clear for all to see. Every single week he never ceases to amaze me with his on-ball brilliance, trickery and sheer pace.
I guess the really scary thing is that he’s still developing and growing as a player, and he’ll continue to do so over the next five years at the very least.
It’s always special when homegrown talent performs and succeeds to such a high level and we really are witnessing something special unfold right now. Hopefully, it’ll continue.
