Match Preview: United vs Cerezo Osaka

United take on Cerezo Osaka tomorrow, which is the second and final game of the clubs two-game stay in Japan. David Moyes has confirmed that Danny Welbeck and Robin van Persie should be fit to play tomorrow which is a big boost as they are the only recognised strikers on tour.

Chris Smalling joined up with the squad this week and no doubt he’ll be looking to get his first minutes of pre-season action under his belt tomorrow. Also Japanese star Shinji Kagawa will be looking for his first start, after coming on as a second half substitute last time out.

Both Wilfried Zaha and Jesse Lingard have started the last two tour games, so the chances are at least one of them will get a rest tomorrow. Ashley Young could step in as a more than capable replacement for the young pair.

Shinji Kagawa will face his old side tomorrow, and no doubt he’ll get an even better reception than he did against the Yokohama Marinos.

Score prediction: Manchester United 2-1 Cerezo Osaka

Last time out against Yokohama United struggled and I expect another tough game here. However United have another game under their belts and fitness levels are continually rising. I’ll go for a narrow 2-1 victory.

Kick-off is at 11am BST, and you can watch the game live from MUTV.
