Manchester United Football Club is heading in a new direction under Ole Gunnar Solskjaer, as the Red Devils continue to mould the squad into one that fits the Baby Faced Assassin’s style.
Scott McTominay is amongst those who are ushering in the new era, but with the Scot continuing to emerge, there has been a real lack of game-time for a certain Nemanja Matic.
Apparently, United’s midfield star is ‘dissatisfied’ with his game-time under Solskjaer, and would prefer a January exit from Old Trafford, rather than waiting until the summer…
According to the story, there’s ‘very little chance’ that Matic remains at United, while the Serbian should have no problem finding a new home. Borussia Dortmund, Juventus, AC Milan and Inter Milan are all named as possible destinations.
With EURO 2020 now just around the corner, in what is probably going to be Matic’s final hurrah on the international stage, it’s pretty easy to see why the midfielder wants to be playing.
There’s only just over six months left on Matic’s current United deal, so the January window will be the final chance for the Reds to actually get some sort of a transfer fee back for a man they paid £40million for.
However, we’re yet to hear the severity of McTominay’s injury, so I’d wait and see on that before pulling the trigger on letting Matic go. Hopefully, though, the Scot will be back in action before the turn of the year…
