Matic eyeing Man United exit, possibly in January window: report

Just yesterday, we covered a story from Serbian media outlet 24Sata, stating that Nemanja Matic wasn’t happy with his playing time at Manchester United – and was looking for a January exit…

Well late last night, Lord James Ducker has spoken in The Telegraph, and if you’re a fan of Matic’s then it’s bad news.

Apparently, the midfielder is eyeing a United exit, backing up the fact that Matic could possibly leave as early as the winter window.

The 31-year-old has fallen down the pecking order under Ole Gunnar Solskjaer, with both Scott McTominay and Fred leapfrogging Matic – and if United are ready to sanction a mid-season transfer, then the player is all for it.

Both Milan clubs were keen on signing Matic in the summer, with the player open to leaving United during that window. Though the future of the ex-Chelsea player is still up in the air, and a move away could be completely dependent on United being able to find a replacement.

After all, midfield is where United are lightest. After letting go of both Marouane Fellaini and Ander Herrera without replacement, the Reds were always going to struggle in terms of numbers. Who knows, perhaps Solskjaer is ready to put his faith in an ever-improving James Garner? That would be a mightily bold move, though…
