Manchester United are expected to confirm the signing of Fred Rodrigues within the next 24 hours, after the Brazil international has successfully completed his Red Devils medical. That’s according to the usually reliable Craig Norwood, who took to Twitter to confirm the news.
Thankfully, it looks as though the deal for the 25-year-old midfielder will be wrapped up before the World Cup, which is hugely important as it stops other potential suitors weighing up a transfer for Fred based upon his performances over in Russia.
What a start to the summer this will be for the Old Trafford club, and credit has to go to Edward Woodward for getting this move sorted out so quickly.
Now, the excitement about Fred begins. United fans will get an opportunity to see their new man in action on June 10th, when Brazil take on Austria in an international friendly match.
Personally, I think he’ll be the perfect complement for both Nemanja Matic and Paul Pogba in a three-man midfield, and I simply cannot wait for him to get started. His energy, passing ability and overall work-rate should bring a new lease of life to an area of the field in which United have struggled recently.
Fred Rodrigues completed his #MUFC medical at Carrington today, final paperwork to be signed before official announcement in the next 24-hours.
