Well, this outgoing loan move has really come out of nowhere and has taken us as a bit of a surprise. According to The Sun, Timothy Fosu-Mensah will have his medical today ahead of a season-long loan move to Crystal Palace.
Apparently, Jose Mourinho is allowing him to leave in order to get regular playing time elsewhere, which makes sense. However, he’s already proven capable to be able to play for Manchester United.
This is a man who flourished under Louis van Gaal, and whenever given the opportunity by Mourinho, he has impressed; including excelling on pre-season tour.
His versatility is his biggest selling point, given the fact that he can play as a centre-back, right-back and even as a holding midfielder if the situation requires.
Players like him are priceless, and I would have loved to have seen him in and around our team over the next twelve months, but if he is playing Premier League football week-in-week-out for Crystal Palace then so be it.
I just pray that he isn’t used as a bench player for The Eagles, because what’s the point in him moving to London if he isn’t going to play for them either. I guess we’ll see how this one plays out.
