Alexis Sanchez’s Manchester United fate is in the hands of Henrikh Mkhitaryan, according to superagent Mino Raiola.
The Red Devils’ pursuit of Sanchez has come from nowhere, with Jose Mourinho’s men now leading the charge to sign the Chile star.
However, according to Raiola, the move will not happen unless Mkhitaryan agrees to join Arsenal. Obviously, the former Dortmund star is going to need some time to work out his best option – due to the fact that he still has plenty of time left on his current United deal.
‘Manchester United is not going to sign Sanchez unless Mkhi agrees to join Arsenal.’ Raiola told The Times.
‘Mkhi has not decided yet. Mkhi is going to do what is best for him. He has two-and-a-half years left on his contract, so it’s his decision.’
Obviously, we all want Sanchez to come to Old Trafford. He’d certainly take us to that next level, particularly in the attacking third. This is a guy who’ll score goals for absolute fun when given the right opportunities, and aid us both domestically and in European competition.
However, I feel for Mkhitaryan in this current situation. In essence, the deal will not happen unless he agrees to it, and that’s some pressure to carry on your shoulders. I wouldn’t blame him for turning Arsenal down, because they aren’t exactly a side on the up at the moment. It’s a step backwards for his career, and it’s tough to agree to that.
