Mkhitaryan’s former teammate tweets hilarious joke about Armenian

Manchester United Football Club had a pretty solid February, and it was a month that included our first cup win under Jose Mourinho. Undoubtedly our best player was Zlatan Ibrahimovic, but it could have been a completely different story if Henrikh Mkhitaryan didn’t get injured.

However, the Armenia captain did scoop one prize, though, and that was Manchester United’s Goal of the Month competition. The 27-year-old scored a brilliant solo goal against Leicester City at the King Power – and he more than deserved the award.

Shortly after, Mkhitaryan tweeted his thanks to the club and the fans, and it wasn’t before long when one of his former teammates in Mats Hummels shared a hilarious joke about it on social media.

Have a look at Mkhitaryan’s original tweet:

Check out Mats Hummels’ response here:

The duo were teammates at Borussia Dortmund before this summer, with Mkhitaryan obviously coming to United and Hummels moving to Bayern Munich. It’s nice to see that they still speak following parting ways, and the joke certainly made me laugh.

It does feel like Mkhitaryan has won at least a few of our Goal of the Month awards so far, heck, who can forget about that brilliant ‘Scorpion Kick’ back in December.
