Manchester United made a £25million move for Morgan Schneiderlin over the summer, with many reds saying it’ll probably be the best move made in the long-term due to his defensive ability and willingness to protect the back four.
The Frenchman has been speaking to the media, and he is clearly unhappy about the lack of praise those defensive type players receive.
“I’m a team player. I don’t play for praise, you have to play your best. I play to win & give my team the best possibilities.” Schneiderlin began. “A lot of players are working very hard and getting praise around us because they score or they give assists.”
“But, a lot of players are working hard making some crucial challenges. Yet we are a bit out of the spotlight, if I can say that.”
I kind of understand where he’s coming from. Yes, players like himself and Carrick don’t get much media attention, but they certainly get a lot of credit. His job role is to stop the opponents from scoring first and foremost, but the fans definitely appreciate that.
