Jose Mourinho is ready to let Ryan Giggs end his 29-year stay at Manchester United for his own benefit. That’s according to the Independent, who say that Mourinho would allow him to exit because he could be a potential threat to his job down the line.
The 42-year old Giggs had been offered a job in a reduced role at Old Trafford and was thinking about accepting the offer whilst on holiday, but the Welsh Wizard isn’t too keen on the idea of a reduced role.
As you’d imagine, Jose will want to bring in his own backroom staff, with Rui Faria expected to be named as his assistant.
It does seem somewhat bizarre from Mourinho to suggest that Giggs could be a future rival to him, because he should fully backing his own ability to be able to do the job at a high enough level so that doesn’t become an issue.
For Ryan Giggs, you feel he simply has to leave the club and gain some management experience elsewhere if he is to ever have any chance of getting the top job here.
