Manchester United boss Jose Mourinho is seriously considering selling David de Gea to Real Madrid, reports Don Balon, translated by the Daily Mail.
The Spaniard has often been linked with a move back to his homeland, but, personally, I must admit it’d be concerning if Mourinho was willing to let him leave so easily.
There is a catch, however, with the report suggesting that the self-proclaimed Special One is only interested in a move if he can land Raphael Varane in return. The French centre-half is a supremely special talent, but we look pretty solid at centre-back right now – so this deal wouldn’t make sense in my opinion.
I guess eventually, it’s inevitable that De Gea will leave Old Trafford. He’s probably the best goalkeeper in the world, and United aren’t the best side on the planet at this point in time – it’s only natural that he wants to play at the highest possible level.
In eleven Premier League games this season, De Gea has kept eight clean sheets which is the best in the country. Some of the saves he has made have been outstanding, and we’re truly blessed to call him our #1.
