Mourinho set to hand huge opportunity to brilliantly talented attacker: report

After a brilliant season out on loan with Granada last season, Manchester United and Jose Mourinho are ready to give a chance to Andreas Pereira. ESPN say that the talented Brazilian is going to be allowed an opportunity to prove his worth to the coach, and he’ll be playing for a spot in the first-team squad.

The 21-year-old made a real name for himself out in Spain despite his side getting relegated. Pereira’s attacking prowess made him one of Granada’s best players over the last twelve months and the first-team football would have done him the world of good.

Now, the Brazilian is due to report to Carrington on July 8th with the rest of the squad, ahead of our pre-season tour of the United States of America later that month.

Honestly, I’m overjoyed that Pereira is going to get his chance. The attacker saw some minutes under Louis van Gaal and he genuinely didn’t look out of place in that #10 role. Now he’ll be an even better footballer because of the regular football, and that is something I’m looking forward to.

I definitely feel that there is a chance for him to stake a claim as a first-team regular. In terms of attacking midfielders, the likes of Henrikh Mkhitaryan and Juan Mata were hit and miss, and if Pereira can show a bit of consistency I don’t see any reason as to why he cannot challenge those guys for minutes.
