Manchester United need a new striker, that much is obvious despite the goal-scoring return of Anthony Martial.
The Reds are seriously paying for their decision to let Romelu Lukaku leave without replacement, though the good thing about football is there’s always another chance.
Anyway today, we’ve an interesting transfer update for you in that regard. The story comes from Corriere dello Sport’s Monday print edition, translated by the Daily Express… They’re claiming that United are ‘expected to sign’ the prolific 19-year-old striker, Erling Braut Haaland, in the transfer window.
Somewhat weirdly, it’s Serie A giants Napoli who expect the move to happen – with the club thinking Haaland could be on his way to Old Trafford in January.
Haaland has been in stunning form this term, scoring 21 times in just 14 appearances – including six strikes in three Champions League games.
If anyone can land this lad, it’s his Norweigan countryman Ole Gunnar Solskjaer. Sure, the RB Salzburg man will cost a pretty penny, and things could change if Haaland’s current side progress into the latter stages of the competition.
Again, Haaland reinforces the belief that Solskjaer is looking to build for the long-term as opposed to the quick fix. He needs time to implement his strategies so us fans should help him out in that regard and remain fully behind the Baby Faced Assassin.
