Long-term Manchester United target Nathaniel Clyne is set to snub a new Southampton contract in order to secure a ‘dream move’ to Old Trafford. The England international had a new £45,000-a-week contract offer on the table, but according to The Sun, he has rejected that deal.
Clyne’s performances have been getting better and better of late, including another solid 90 minutes against the league-leaders Chelsea yesterday.
Manchester United are lacking a natural right-back who Louis van Gaal seems to trust, and it is thought that the Southampton man is on top of the Iron Tulip’s wish list.
This probably signals the end for Rafael da Silva sadly, who Van Gaal just doesn’t seem to fancy whatsoever.
Clyne would be an excellent addition to our starting XI, and he’d be reunited with his fellow teammate Luke Shaw if he were to make the move to Manchester.
