Nemanja Vidic says one player in particular is driving Manchester United forward

Manchester United Football Club took a big decision over the summer, when they allowed Jose Mourinho to bring in Zlatan Ibrahimovic on a free transfer. It was always going to go one of two ways with a player like him, and right now, it’s working absolute wonders.

The 35-year-old already has nineteen goals across all competitions, fourteen of which have come in the Premier League; he’s also the joint-top scorer in that competition.

Now a Manchester United legend has come out in support of the influential Swede, and boldly stated that Ibrahimovic is driving Manchester United forward – but he needs help from other players.

That man is Nemanja Vidic, who was full of praise for the man who Manchester United signed from Paris Saint-Germain back in the summer.

“First of all I have to say his motivation, he’s 35-years-old, it’s incredible,” the Serbian Warrior told ESPN.

“I think he keeps himself fit, he’s professional, and his 18 goals in 28 matches this season is a great record.

“He is the one driving Manchester United forward.

“Other players have to step up with the goals if United want to keep winning their matches.

“But well done to him, he is playing really well this season.”

Nemanja Vidic is absolutely spot on here, and it’s always great to see heroes like him coming out into the media and supporting fellow Red Devils.

Personally, I just didn’t expect Zlatan to have the impact he has had. At his age, it really is incredible to watch what he is doing right now, and it shows just how much of a special player he is; and long may it continue from a Manchester United point of view.
