Nemanja Vidic will join Inter Milan in the summer

Inter Milan have confirmed the signing of Manchester United’s Serbian warrior, Nemanja Vidic. The 32-year old, born in Uzice, will join his new side at the end of June when his current United deal expires. His Inter deal is thought to be a three-year contract, whereas United would’ve only offered him a one-year deal due to his age.

I personally feel this is a good move for all parties. United have got one of their higher earners off the wage bill just as his best days are almost certainly behind him, and Inter are getting one hell of a defender when fully fit and up for it. Vidic himself will be looking for regular playing time – Something that his new side will be able to offer him.

United spent £7m on bringing Vidic to United way back in 2006, and he’s one of the greatest defenders the club has ever seen. I’ll always be grateful for that super partnership he formed with Rio Ferdinand – Especially in that magical 2007/08 season when they were at the heart of our Premier League and Champions League double.

Its the end of an era at United, and Vidic will be the first of many outgoings at the club in the summer. He goes with our blessing though.

Thanks for everything and good luck, Nemanja!
