Not Rashford: Manchester United winger being considered for first international cap

Manchester United’s players have had a decent start to the season all things considered, with Jose Mourinho’s men getting back to winning ways at the weekend. They demolished Leicester City by a 4-1 scoreline, and one of their starters in that game is being considered for an England call-up.

Big Sam is all set to name his next international squad this coming weekend, and according to The Independent newspaper, he is seriously considering bringing Jesse Lingard into the mix.

The English winger is clearly one of Jose’s favourites, as he has thrown him straight back into action following a poor performance in the derby and an injury. He repaid that show of faith at the weekend by grabbing an assist.

Now the Three Lions could come calling for the man born in Warrington, and you’d have to say it’d be a justified call-up given the lack of any real quality options out wide at the moment.

It goes to show that working hard does pay off, and I’d be thrilled if Jesse can go and get his first cap for his country in a couple of weeks.
