Odion Ighalo sends message to fans following postponement of football

The world feels like a weird place this morning. Waking up with no elite-level football to watch definitely hurts, though in the end, there’s nothing more important than life itself.

It’s all a tad eery. How this one will eventually play out is anyone’s guess. For right now, all we can do is take care and come together in these difficult times.

Yesterday’s postponement of football until at least April 3rd really made it hit home for me. This is a serious, global pandemic that needs to be halted before things get worse. In the end, it’s easy to forget that our footballing heroes are just human after all. Heck, you look at Mikel Arteta and Callum Hudson-Odoi who have both tested positive and it really hits home…

It’s an odd situation for those guys who are now getting out of their typical routines. New United signing Odion Ighalo must be in dreamland right now, though I bet he’s also wondering whether he could’ve played his last game for the Old Trafford club – particularly if the season is cancelled…

Anyway, this morning, Ighalo took to Twitter to send a heartfelt message to the fans, urging us all to be safe while stating that he’ll see us all in three weeks. It’s simple, but effective.

Hopefully, the spread of this disease does start to slow up pretty quickly. If everyone looks after themselves individually, we’ll all benefit as a collective…
