Manchester United Football Club have confirmed that Alexis Sanchez has joined the Red Devils, with Henrikh Mkhitaryan heading in the opposite direction.
The 29-year-old has made the move to Old Trafford, as his contract at The Emirates was expiring and he clearly wanted a new challenge, with an increased chance at winning major trophies during this season and beyond.
Sanchez has been up there amongst the best players in the Premier League ever since he moved here, and to have him at the Theatre of Dreams is something that all us fans should relish for the duration of his contract.
It’s looking likely that he’ll make his debut against Yeovil Town on Friday night in an FA Cup Fourth Round clash, and no doubt he’ll be hungry to make a big impression and kick things off on the right foot.
United’s new hero becomes the first player from Chile to play for our first-team, which will be an extremely proud honour for the attacker, his family (and of course, his dogs).
Let’s also not forget that Sanchez isn’t cup-tied so he’ll be able to take part in the Champions League, in our round of sixteen tie against Sevilla.
Welcome to Old Trafford, Alexis. You’ll love it here.
