Ole Gunnar Solskjaer admits he won’t want to leave Man United in May

Manchester United are back. Jose Mourinho is in the past, Ole Gunnar Solskjaer has the Red Devils playing the way that United should.

The Baby Faced Assassin made it four wins from four away at Newcastle United last night, as his players put in a comfortable 2-0 display.

It was probably United’s worst performance under their new manager, but for me, it was the most pleasing. The players never gave up, fought for each other, and even at 2-0 up, they didn’t sit back, they wanted to get forward and make it 3-0.

Testament has to go to the manager for that. He’s instilled this attacking philosophy almost overnight, and now, the question on everyones lips is whether Solskjaer should be given the job permanently.

The manager was asked about that following last night’s game, and it’s fair to say he wants to remain at the club in the long-term.

“Of course I won’t, I don’t want to [leave United]”. Solskjaer is quoted as telling reporters, including The Independent.

Why would he want to leave? This is his home, the fans adore him, the players are giving their absolute all for him. However, this is just the beginning, there will be rocky roads ahead.

I think that how the players bounce back after the first loss will be telling. Tottenham Hotspur away will not be easy, but if the boys can get a positive result there, then who knows, maybe Solskjaer will get his wish and we’ll be seeing him get the job permanently over the summer…
