Manchester United Football Club have certainly been better over the last few weeks. Four wins in five signals a turning of the tide, though the Reds have to back it up with a convincing league victory this weekend.
On the night, all the plaudits will head in the way of the dynamic attacking trio, each of whom got themselves on the score-sheet. However, the defence also deserves credit.
Led by Harry Maguire, this is a unit who are constantly improving. Ole Gunnar Solskjaer must have been impressed by each of the four who played last night, though the Baby Faced Assassin signalled out Marcos Rojo for individual praise.
After labelling him a ‘winner’ with ‘good mentality’ Solskjaer went on to admit Rojo’s passion for the game – before adding that he ‘spreads fear’ in training because of his toughness in the tackle.
“He’s [Rojo] got such a big heart and such a passion for football,” said Ole per ManUtd.com.
“He’s a winner. To have him around when he’s fit and in a good mood, it’s been great for us.
“The boys love him and he sometimes spreads fear in training because he tackles properly. He’s one of the ones who really cares about the game.”
Well, that certainly sounds like Rojo alright. I’ve lost track on the amount of times the former Sporting CP man will go diving feet-first into a tackle when it’s not really necessary!
Fair play, though, we’re lacking in characters at the moment and the 29-year-old is certainly one of those!
For what it’s worth, I always thought that Phil Jones should be out of the exit door before the fiery South American, and it seems as though Solskjaer is pleased with Rojo right now so that may well become a reality come next summer.
