Paper Round-Up: Utd to beat Liverpool to signing, but dealt blow in midfielder chase

Manchester United have announced the signature of Jose Mourinho on a three-year contract, with the self-proclaimed Special One already working at the Aon Training Complex. With the transfer window looming, the club have been linked to a whole host of new faces.

With the European Championships looming, it is looking increasingly unlikely that any transfer business will be sealed before the big tournament.

That gives Jose Mourinho some extra time to work with Edward Woodward to discuss potential targets, and allows them a month or so to plan before any official moves will likely be made.
