With each passing match that Paul Pogba missed due to injury, his absence became felt more. The 24-year-old midfield maestro left a gaping hole in Manchester United’s starting XI, but yesterday, he returned.
Despite not playing for two months, Pogba ran the show from start to finish. He drove the Red Devils forward, and was at the heart of everything creative about our play.
In the first half, Pogba picked up an assist that dragged his team back into the contest, in the second 45, the Frenchman scored the all-important goal which took the game away from Newcastle.
It truly was a joy watching him play, and after the match, he took to Twitter to thank the fans for their support during injury.

Performances like Pogba’s yesterday are just a breath of fresh air. I guess any team would miss their best player for any prolonged period of time, but having him back for the hectic winter period is a huge bonus.
It’s now time for Manchester United to start stringing those wins together once again. he gap between us and City stands at eight points, but make no mistake about it, they’ll suffer a sticky patch. We just have to be ready to take advantage of that.
