Paul Pogba sends inspirational message to fans after suffering racial abuse

Over the last week or so, Manchester United Football Club have found themselves in the headlines for all the wrong reasons. Racial abuse, suffered by both Marcus Rashford and Paul Pogba, is quite frankly disgusting.

In this day and age, it simply should not be happening. Whether said players have had a poor game of football or not, under no circumstances should it come to this horrific, vile level by some football ‘fans’ (I use the term lightly).

As is always the case the trolls hide behind fake profile pictures and are probably giggling away in their bedroom somewhere – there is just no need for it whatsoever. Twitter themselves have to do more, and Harry Maguire definitely had the right idea when he called for people having to verify their accounts with a passport photo or driving licence.

After going quiet on social media since the event, Pogba has now spoken out – and in the best way possible. He has sent an inspirational message to the fans that speaks volumes about the world we live in today and the Frenchman as an individual.

For everyone all over the world, it’s vital that a public figure like Pogba has come out and said something. The worst he could do was remain quiet and let this be swept under the rug.

It’s about time something serious is done about online trolls and hate – and hopefully, some good can inevitably come out of this awful situation.
