Manchester United Football Club have had a rough patch. That happens in football, it’s up to Ole Gunnar Solskjaer to turn things around; although that’s easier said than done.
Our manager certainly hasn’t had the best of luck in terms of injuries, but players are now coming back and with the international break upon us, that works in our favour.
One man who has recently returned to training is Phil Jones. Before he was injured, the Englishman was putting in some super performances and hopefully, he’ll be back to full fitness soon.
Before that, though, Jonesy has been speaking to the media about all things United. Amongst the topic of conversation was the prospect of a testimonial – to which the 27-year-old responded to brilliantly.
“I wouldn’t go that far, there’d be only my mum and dad who would turn up,” he said in an exclusive interview with Goal.
It’s weird that Jones is only two years away from a testimonial game – but it’s not something I begrudge him for. It just feels as though he hasn’t played that many games for us due to constantly being injured.
Although he’s joking, I would be surprised if Old Trafford was full for such an occasion, but to stay for ten years at a club with United’s stature does deserve credit.
In the short-term, Jones has to get himself back and available as quickly as possible because our current crop of defenders have been throwing up a real mixed bag of late.
