Phil Jones Ruled Out For Further Eight Weeks

Unknown

ManUtd.com confirmed that the youngster suffered an injury setback on Thursday afternoon after a training session. The injury has been described as a knee meniscus tear and will keep Jones out for between 6-8 weeks after undergoing an operation yesterday.

There’s also been rumours that Jonny Evans strained his hamstring whilst on international duty, so once again we find ourselves short at the heart of the defence. Smalling isn’t expected to return for a little while yet, coupled with injuries to Evans and Jones, leaves us with just Ferdinand and Vidic. Yes, Michael Carrick can do a job there, but it seems silly playing our best midfielder out of position, we’ll just have to wait and see.
