Manchester United Football Club dropped two more points in the Premier League this weekend, as they made it three consecutive draws in a row. Jose Mourinho’s men once again had a chance to close the gap on the teams above them, but unfortunately, couldn’t capitalise.
Hull City looked dangerous at times on the counter-attack, but Manchester United’s star man on the night was Phil Jones, as he sniffed out absolutely everything and was always on the front-foot against The Tigers’ attackers.
Sadly, though, as the second half got underway, the Englishman picked up what looked like a hamstring injury – but he’s already relieved the fears of Manchester United fans, by speaking out about it after the game.
“It’s nothing sinister, nothing serious. Hopefully in a few days I’ll be fine.” Phil Jones is quoted as saying by ManUtd’s official Twitter account.
This is great news. Phil Jones has been, without a doubt, our best centre-back over the last couple of months since his return from injury – and seriously, all credit to him.
The 24-year-old had begun to form an excellent partnership with Marcos Rojo at the back, and here’s to hoping that ‘Jonesy’ will be fit enough to start away at Leicester City come the weekend in another game that’ll prove a stern test.
