Manchester United first-team coach Phil Neville, has indicated that the club will certainly be looking at the possibility of bringing fresh faces to Old Trafford in January. The mid-season transfer window was something old boss Sir Alex Ferguson wasn’t particularly fond of, but the way our summer business went, brining in faces is a must for David Moyes.
Its sometimes tricky to bring in the elite players due to Champions League cup ties, and it can also be tricky to bring in players from England as they’ll face cup ties from the Capital One Cup, and depending on how late the business is done the FA Cup too.
Theres no doubt that United could do with a few fresh faces come January, but whether or not David Moyes and his staff can find players suitable is another matter.
Phil Neville said:
“We have a fantastic squad as it is. In the transfer window early on in the season we were looking for players, that was well documented.
“That search continues. We need to keep reinvesting in the squad because if you stand still in this league you get left behind, as Manchester City found out last season when they didn’t strengthen as much and they ended up losing the league [title].”
We still need at least one more central-midfielder if you ask me, and there are various reports claiming that a deal for Leighton Baines is in place already. Will we sign anyone? We’ll have to wait and see…
