Manchester United certainly made one of the transfer moves of the summer when bringing Bastian Schweinsteiger to Old Trafford for a mere £6.5million. Many thought that he would be too old and way past his best, but it has proven to be a masterstroke by Louis van Gaal to bring in the experienced German.
The players are now on a two week hiatus from domestic football as they fly out to their homelands to take part in the international fixtures, and Bastian Schweinsteiger has been reunited with his former Bayern Munich compatriots, Thomas Muller and Manuel Neuer.
The pair would have obviously been gutted to see Schweinsteiger switch the red of Bayern for the red of Manchester United, but they must be delighted to see their friend getting the game time he deserves.
Who knows, he could even have a quiet word with Thomas Muller and convince him to make the move to Manchester!
