Photo: Manchester United star returns to training after long injury layoff

Manchester United have welcomed back Phil Jones to first-team training for the first time during this Premier League campaign, as the young centre-half has suffered from thrombosis and a blood clot in his leg since going on the pre-season tour with the side.

Finally the 23-year old from Preston is back in action, but you’d imagine a spot in the match day squad is just beyond the young man this weekend.

Its great to have him back training with the squad though, and he certainly gives Manchester United an extra body in a key area of the field – particularly after Luke Shaw’s injury.

Hopefully he can get fit quickly and get himself involved, perhaps play him against Ipswich in the Capital One Cup this midweek.

Good news – @PhilJones_4 has returned to full training. We can’t wait to see him back on the pitch for #mufc!
