Manchester United have been dumped down into the Europa League for the second time over recent years, with Louis van Gaal’s side finishing third in a group which the club should have topped with relative ease. That has had a knock on effect for the Glazers wallets.

According to the Daily Mail, Manchester United will close the complete third tier of the Sir Alex Ferguson stand due to low ticket sales for the game against FC Midtjylland later in the month, showing just how little the fans care about this particular competition.

When you couple the losing streak with the dull football on display at Manchester United at the moment, you can hardly blame the fans for not wanting to turn up for this one. Its hardly a battle of european heavyweights, and we’re yet to find out just how serious Louis van Gaal plans on taking this tournament.
