Well, it seems as though only a matter of hours before we’ll have official confirmation of Ashley Young’s Manchester United departure.
After eight-and-a-half years at Old Trafford, the Reds veteran is closing in on his Inter Milan move – as Ole Gunnar Solskjaer continues to mould the squad into one that fits his playing style.
Anyway, credit to Gianluca Di Marzio who has been all over this one from the get-go. Again, he was first on the scene to picture the versatile United star arriving in Milan for his Inter medial earlier today:
Apparently, Young will take the first part of his medical at the Humanitas clinic and finish his tests at the Coni facility, before heading off to sign his Inter Milan contract.
I find it unfortunate that, according to a story we covered from The Sun earlier today, Young had to walk out of a training session to get his wish. However, the veteran has been an excellent servant for United – and that shouldn’t be ignored.
At this stage in his career, this was likely his last big-money switch so fair play to him. I hope he enjoys his time in Milan and there’s a real chance he can be named a Serie A champion come the season’s end.
Good luck, Youngy!
