Manchester United Football Club completed a deal for Diogo Dalot yesterday, with the 19-year-old penning a five-year contract.
The right-back joins from FC Porto after only playing a handful of first-team games. Despite that, Jose Mourinho made an extremely bold claim about United’s new man.
Today, the hype around Dalot continues, with the club posting a photo of the man from Portugal donning the new Red Devils kit. For some strange reason, it’s always weirdly exciting seeing a new player in the jersey for the first time, and in this case, Dalot looks delighted and proud to be a part of one of the biggest clubs in the world.

Right-back and left-back have been somewhat of a problem issue for United this season. Although Antonio Valencia and Ashley Young have done a decent job, they’re by no means the long-term solution to a key position.
Dalot is obviously immensely talented. We’re talking about a player who’ll be improving week-on-week. He may not be ready to come into the starting line-up from the get-go, but in time, we genuinely could be looking at a world-class full-back capable of filling a void in both full-back slots.
