Picture: Four Manchester United players named in BBC’s Team of the Week

Manchester United fans would have enjoyed their excellent day out at Wembley Stadium on Saturday, overcoming Tottenham Hotspur 2-1 to progress into the FA Cup final.

For their performances, four Manchester United players have been included in the BBC’S Team of the Week; all of whom deserve the praise they’re receiving at this point in time.

First up we have Chris Smalling. The English defender has been in brilliant form over the last few Premier League fixtures and he carried that into the FA Cup semi-final. Harry Kane struggled throughout, with the former Fulham defender winning pretty much every aerial battle, while also showing his excellent positional sense.

Second is the match-winner; Ander Herrera. The Basque-born midfielder has found minutes hard to come by this term, but he always comes up big when the pressure is on. He was absolutely everywhere from first minute till last, dealing with Mousa Dembele brilliantly.

Next is Paul Pogba. The grit and determination he displayed to win the ball back, before teasing in a beautiful ball into Alexis Sanchez for the leveller was just insanely good. After that, he put his stamp on the match and began to control proceedings.

The final Red Devil named by the BBC is Alexis Sanchez. The #7 scored an outstanding header, and caused Spurs problems on both sides of the ball through his sheer grit and tenacity. We’re slowly but surely beginning to see exactly what he brings to the table; and I’m loving it.
