Manchester United manager Jose Mourinho will have been putting his players through their final preparations before they take on West Bromwich Albion at Old Trafford on Sunday.
However, the self-proclaimed Special One has won an individual LMA Performance of the Week award, the Red Devils confirmed via their Twitter account.
It was some derby day, wasn’t it? Mourinho’s men weren’t at it in the first-half, but my they silenced their critics with a sublime second period. Paul Pogba was at the heart of everything good, as was Alexis Sanchez, who put in his best United performance to date.
Obviously, this is nothing major for the gaffer, particularly one who’s won absolutely everything in the game, but it’s always nice when high-level performances are recognised.
Often, the work manager’s and coaches undergo unnoticed, but it’s nice for Mourinho to get the praise he deserves. It was his tactical tweaks that made the difference and gave the Old Trafford faithful a real day to remember.
Sure, the Premier League title is gone, but we’d never live it down from our blue mates if they’d beaten us to win the Premier League crown.
